My name is Eve Edelheit and I am an independent photojournalist based in St. Petersburg, Florida. I frequently contribute to The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post. Growing up in Minneapolis, I swore I would never move to the south, but life has other plans. After studying at the University of Missouri and the Danish School of Media and Journalism, I earned a degree in photojournalism with a minor in political science. Following four back to back internships, I became a staff photographer at the Tampa Bay Times for six years. In 2018, I began a new professional chapter as a freelance photojournalist, covering all corners of Florida and beyond, and I've never looked back. I love living in Florida and telling the stories of this truly incredible place.

I deeply care about the professional of photojournalism and giving back to the community that helped me get to where I'm at now. I'm currently volunteering my time as a member of National Press Photographers Association board of directors and as a faculty member at the Eddie Adams Workshop. I'm also on the board of APhotoADay and where I have helped raise money that helped photographers document their own communities through grants.
